Mp3-pack, Covers Dept.: All Wrong and the Plans Change (Keith Sweat), Crushed Stars (Nena), Ace Reporter (Arcade Fire)

[Three cool cover songs that caught our ear — including one for those Arcade Fire fans who waited in line all night to buy tickets for tonight's show:]

All Wrong and the Plans Change, “Twisted (Keith Sweat)” — The L.A. quartet spearheaded by singer/bassist Kassia Conway and drummer Amy Wood last year released its debut “I’m Like Whatever.” Here, Conway delivers a smoldering take on Keith Sweat’s mid-1990s hit.

Crushed Stars, “99 Red Balloons (Nena)” — The artist born Todd Gautreau turns the 1983 hit by Nena (originally recorded in German as “99 Luftballoons”) into something lush and beautiful. There’s more where that came from on Crushed Stars’ 2010 album “Convalescing in Braille.”

Ace Reporter, “We Used to Wait (Arcade Fire)” — We told you about Chris Snyder’s ThreesixFiveProject in January. Since it’s an Arcade Fire kind of week here in L.A., and it’s been all about waiting, Ace Reporter’s cover of “The Suburbs” anthem seemed perfect.

Ace Reporter! Excellent! Hope he’ll be in LA/OC for a show.
