Download: Natural Child, ‘Nobody Wants To Party With Me’

Nashville, Tenn.-based trio, Natural Child, has taken one of the most woeful situations for youngsters — boredom — and set it to 60’s pysch-pop rock ‘n’ roll. This formula isn’t groundbreaking yet it also never fails to work, especially when there’s a chugging bass line involved. Seth, Wez and Zac sing the typical tales of the party-life with lyrics such as “Took some pills/And I’m up all night” but also insert how things may have changed since their adolescence by adding “My best friend’s at home with his wife/Nobody wants to party with me.” Natural Child has figured out one way to escape monotony in life much like the Ramones did: They wrote a song about it, and it’s capable of stirring things up just as they desired. With controlled percussion, enticing guitar riffs and chunky bass lines, the kids of today may have gotten their own “I Wanna Be Sedated.”
