[Three local artists who have recently gotten the remix treatment … Turn the volume up and let these beats help ease you into the weekend.]

Superhumanoids, “Malta (Lesands Remix)” — L.A.’s dream-pop quartet, Superhumanoids, gets a heavy New Wave treatment from San Diego group, Lesands. Don’t worry. If we didn’t know the lyrics, we would have mistaken this mix as an original Twin Shadow song, too.

Foster the People, “Pumped Up Kicks (MNDR Remix)” — NYC’s duo, MNDR (consisting of members Amanda Warner and Peter Wade) breathes new life into the summer hit of 2010 from L.A.’s electro-pop band, Foster the People. MNDR’s signature synth-pop back beats nicely wrap around the feathery falsetto chorus.

Cold War Kids, “Louder Than Ever (Active Child Remix)” — Cold War Kids’ lead single off of their latest album, “Mine Is Yours” gets a remix from fellow L.A. artist, Active Child (aka Pat Grossi). It’s no surprise to hear the harp echo here but lush hymnal vibes are traded in for a nocturnal lull.
