Middle Brother, “Me Me Me” — Folk-rock supergroup Middle Brother, which consists of members John J McCauley III of Deer Tick, Taylor Goldsmith of Dawes and Matt Vasquez of Delta Spirit, hit the Echo on Thursday evening. Johnny Corndawg opens.

Papercuts, “Do What You Will” — San Francisco-based artist Jason Quever, also known as Papercuts, will bring his psychedelic analog-affair to the Satellite on Friday night. Banjo or Freakout and the Finches support.

The Naked and Famous, “Crazy Yes Dumb No” — New Zealand’s hottest act the Naked and Famous, who were signed to Universal here in the States not too long ago, will be playing two big shows at the Echoplex this weekend in support of their album, “Passive Me, Aggressive You.” Unknown Mortal Orchestra will play beforehand. (The following track is a free download in exchange for your e-mail address at the band’s website.)

LOVE that the Naked & the Famous are covering a song by dearly departed and wondrously awesome Mint Chicks, also from New Zealand, that should have gotten more attention and maybe now will! Great version of it. Happy happy – thanks for the link!
