[The Buzz Bands crew is heading to the desert, but L.A. has still packed in shows for the weekend. Here are three bands you can enjoy without getting a sunburn.]

Maserati, “We Got The System To Fight The System” — Post-rock instrumental band Maserati from Athens, Ga., will be headlining the Satellite on Friday in support of their latest album, “Pyramid of the Sun.” The album is their first release after the death of late member Jerry Fuchs (also formerly of the Juan MacLean, Turing Machine and !!!). Kenseth Thibadeau supports.

AgesandAges, “No Nostalgia”— Portland, Ore.-based band, AgesandAges brings big folk-tinted group sing-along songs from their debut, “Alright You Restless” to the Bootleg Theater as openers for Lake on Saturday.

The Lonely Forest, “Coyote” — The Lonely Forest from Anacortes, Wash., returns to the SoCal area with their throwback guitar rock in support of their Chris Walla-produced album, “Arrows,” on Sunday night. The quartet plays with Yuck at Detroit Bar down in Orange County.
