Coachella: The Aquabats, kings of 1997

Who: The Aquabats in the Mohave Tent
In 3 or Fewer Words: Super skank celebration
I’ll Remember This Until: The next time cave men from the past travel to the present to destroy future Coachella. The Aquabats took their tent back to 1997 with an impossible to dislike set of mischievous ska-skewed power-punk. The 35-minute set was replete with irreverent skits (a goof on Kings of Leon was well-received), mock dinosaur battles and a Chinese dragon puppet of Falcor, the luck dragon from “The Neverending Story.” Oh, and Danny Devito. The set wasn’t a mind-blower, just a good time had by all. Fans booed when festival organizers cut it two songs short.
