Coachella: Two Door Cinema Club, tight and bright

Who: Two Door Cinema Club in the Mojave Tent
In 3 or Fewer Words: Tastes great (now).
I’ll Remember This Until: The next lead singer with an accent says “Let’s have a dance.” The Coachella tents are annually dotted with one-album guitar wonders from across the pond, some of whom (Bloc Party) stay around longer than others (the Kooks). Ireland’s Two Door Cinema Club embaced its moment with cherubic humility, sending the steamy denizens of the jam-packed Mojave Tent pogoing toward euphoria with upbeat songs such as “Something Good Can Work” and “I Can Talk.” Redheaded frontman Alex Trimble was pretty red-faced barely 10 minutes into the set, but neither he nor mates Kevin Baird, Benjamin Thompson and Sam Halliday overheated, pouring on prickly guitars and four-on-the-floor rhythms like the Kaiser Chiefs while making songs from their maiden voyage “Tourist History” feel like the second coming of Phoenix. Even if this turns out to be TDCC’s sole moment in the sun, they can remember they shined.
What I’d Tell My Friend Who Was at Radio Dept.: You probably were probably saving your legs for later, right?
