San Diego’s Tape Deck Mountain are about to kick off their first headlining U.S. tour, and their dark, atmospheric, fuzzed-out sound is appropriate for the onset of southern California’s June gloom. The lo-fi duo’s tenebrous shoegaze comes through like a strong storm on the new song “Kellies.” As a followup track to their “Secret Serf” EP, the song is a heavy stomper with the drum line driving the rest of the layers. The only physical copy of the song can be found on a limited-edition cassette (100 copies) that TDM made for the tour. Luckily for us, Los Angeles is their first stop. If you can’t catch them live, don’t worry. The duo was nice enough to make it a free download as well.
