It’s been less than a month since Other Lives graced the stage at the Satellite in support of their album “Tamer Animals,” and the Stillwater, Okla., quintet’s return trip is one you’ll want to mark on your calendar. The band’s lush orchestrations are almost surreal on album, but to see the the members swap instruments live (often during a song) is a breathtakingly powerful experience. Perhaps it wasn’t a coincidence for them to play L.A. during the weekend of the supposed Rapture after all; there are certainly moments where Other Lives’ repertoire creates a sense of elevation. So, it’s fitting that we see frontman Jesse Tabish donning a spacesuit in their video for “For 12” where he also senses things out of this world.
