Noah and the Whale, “Life Is Life (Yuksek Remix)” – French producer and DJ Yuksek gives England’s folk band Noah and the Whale’s “Life Is Life” an upbeat interpretation, making it another nice addition to any summer mixtape. The original track is from the band’s third studio album, “Last Night On Earth.”

Belle & Sebastian, “I Didn’t See It Coming (Cold Cave Remix)” (via Stereogum) – Who knew moody, gothic synth-popper Wes Eisold was such a big fan of indie-pop band Belle & Sebastian. The frontman of Cold Cave takes a live take of “I Didn’t See It Coming” and replaces twee elements with heavy synth lines snaking throughout sweet boy-girl vocals. Eisold’s translation will be a part of Belle & Sebastian’s upcoming 12-inch, “Come On Sister” (out July 26 via Matador), which includes two other remixes, and the album version of “Blue Eyes of  a Millionaire.”
