Download: Electra, ‘Radio On’

by seraphina on October 6, 2011

It wouldn’t be surprising if you thought Electra might be the next big thing to come out of the U.K., given their heavily Clash-influenced rock ‘n’ roll. But the three-piece band consisting of Nitzan Horesh, Doron Farhi and Boaz Wolf is, in fact, from Tel Aviv, Israel. They’re also not the “next big thing,” but they are currently one of the most successful bands from the country. They made a big splash with their ska-driven “Coming to Get You” in 2010, and have since then released a string of singles from their debut album “Heartbreaks for Fools” boasting a diverse sound palette that ranges from rockabilly to garage-rock to psychedelic ’60s jams. Making their debut in the States this week shouldn’t be a difficult feat since this is what we wish the “return of the great British guitar band” really sounded like.
