Video: Liam Finn, ‘Cold Feet’

Providing proof that the apple doesn’t fall from the tree, New Zealand singer-songwriter Liam Finn (the son of Split Enz and Crowded House’s Neil Finn) has had a dynamic career of his own. Now touring in support of his sophomore album “FOMO” (his acronym for “fear of missing out”) on Yep Roc Records, Finn takes his experiences from playing with his father at the age of 14 and channels his multi-instrumental talents into pop songs that are immediately accessible, with razor-sharp wit, riveting keyboard riffs and guitars that bounce between acoustic and electric loops. Finn’s latest single, “Cold Feet,” is his most sunny tune, although the video would have you thinking otherwise. Recorded in the summer of 2010, there is an abundance of bright melodies which thread the album together. However, his lyrics that sprung from a time when he was away from his family and friends cater to the loneliness.
