‣ Filter’s Culture Collide festival continues at various locales in Echo Park (be sure to check at one of the info tables for set time/venue changes), and today’s menu of imported music is highlighted by Brazil’s CSS, Canada’s Young Liars, the U.K.’s Harvey and Isobel Campbell, the Netherlands’ Death Letters and Australia’s Cameras (that’s their video for “Defeatist,” above. Locals making the scene include the Elected, the Henry Clay People, Little Hurricane and Incan Abraham. After the jump, updated info for today’s shows.
The Pains of Being Pure at Heart visit the El Rey Theatre, with Twin Sister opening.
Megafaun (Justin Vernon’s original band) headlines the Satellite, supported by Hi Ho Silver Oh.
‣ After their early set at Culture Collide, Incan Abraham races over to the Central SAPC in Santa Monica for a show celebrating the release of its “Ancient Vacation” EP. Handshakes and the Telecasters support.
‣ And Vermont quintet Chamberlin hits the Bootleg Theater with Olin and the Moon and AB and the Sea in tow.
