Tonight in L.A.: Airborne Toxic Event, Marcus Very Ordinary, Voxhaul Broadcast, Ocean Grove, Delta Spirit, Theft, more

Well hello, Sunday. What can we do for you? And vice versa.

‣L.A. darlings Airborne Toxic Event headline tonight’s L.A. 101 fest at the Gibson Amphitheater along with Tokyo Police Club, Delta Spirit, Built To Spill, Electric Guest and Jenny O. Indoor/outdoor stages, exhibits, vendors and food trucks, oh my!
‣The co-headlining tour of L.A.’s Voxhaul Broadcast and N.J.’s Ocean Grove (it’s an East coast-West coast thing) hits the Troubadour tonight with special guest Robert Schwartzman (of Rooney).
‣Don’t know how they’re going to get all nine members plus instruments (to include a horn and string section) on the Viper Room stage, but it’ll be interesting to watch them try. Led by Jon Lorentz, Marcus Very Ordinary is not. It is an orchestrated sound of a dark speakeasy and questionable human emotions.
Theft is at the Bootleg Bar for their record release show, and if your ear slights towards an edge of Brit-rock (I swear, I hear the Verve in “Breathing Underwater” and that’s okay), check them out. Quality support comes from Satellite and Act As If.
