Video: Foster the People, ‘Call It What You Want’

Others really have no say in what anyone chooses to do in his or her spare time, and if you happen to be wealthy and successful, there are more (albeit sometimes unnecessary) options for passing the time. In Foster the People‘s new Ace Norton-directed video, we see the L.A. electro pop band lying around a mansion and taking part in very peculiar activities such as talking to their own reflection, singing to a talking plate of breakfast, shooting down a line of groupies outside — and those things aren’t even the strangest of events that occur during this clip. Perhaps it’s a statement about an exponential rise to fame (something that isn’t much of a stretch if one goes back to their humble beginnings before the release of the debut album “Torches”), but there’s still not much that makes sense in this new video. Then again, the lack of purpose may be just what they wanted to illustrate a track titledĀ  “Call It What You Want.”
