Stream: Tim Heidecker, ‘Pray for Cain’

A story in Friday’s L.A. Times chronicled how the cast of characters vying for the GOP presidential nomination are providing a multitude of fodder for TV comedians. Turns out they’ve inspired some musical satire too. Tim Heidecker of the musical duo Heidecker & Wood (and of the TV show “Tim and Eric: Awesome Show, Good Job!) finds his muse in Hermun Cain. It started with one song, “Cain Train,” released on YouTube in late October. Finding even more inspiration, though, Heidecker collaborated with Doug Lussenhop, Gregg Turkington, Mark Proksch and Chris Bagnall to record an album’s worth of tunes. Now “Cainthology (Songs in the Key of Cain)” has been released digitally via Little Record Company (home to Hedeicker & Wood). Proceeds from the album will be donated to VIP Community Mental Health Center, which runs programs to combat child and elder abuse. Good yuks for a good cause.
