[Recent remixes that have tickled our ears … ]

The Big Pink, “Stay Gold (araabMUZIK remix)” – The single “Stay Gold” from the U.K. duo’s forthcoming album “Future This” (out January 2012 via 4AD) packs in an extra noteworthy punch by way of producer AraabMuzik. Even with the hip hop influences, this remix reminds shoegazers why they fell hard for songs like “Dominos” in 2009. Also, check out the Big Pink’s latest video for “Hit the Ground (Superman).”

Little Dragon,  “Little Man (Tycho remix)” – Original chillwaver Scott Hansen, aka Tycho, takes on Little Dragon’s “Little Man.” The original track is one of the standout songs from the Swedish electronic neo-soul band’s latest record “Ritual Union,” but Tycho manages to beautifully smooth out the staccato beats with a layer of his signature soft electronica waves – without losing the swagger. Also, check out Little Dragon’s “Nightlight” and Tycho’s “Hours.”

Races, “Big Broom (Sun Glitters remix)” – Newbies to the Frenchkiss Records family, L.A.’s Races, get a woozy treatment from Sun Glitters, aka Victor Ferreira. Certainly never afraid to stray from the core of the original tune in order to make it his own, Ferreira combines glitchy and ambient synth-pop in a way that makes Tycho’s remix above sound like a safe edit. The chorus in “Big Broom” is hardly recognizable here, but its loose reinterpretation and experimentalism yields a new hypnotism.
