Tonight in L.A.: Jay-Z & Kanye West, Dinosaur Jr., Tribes, Papa, Light FM, Manhattan Murder Mystery

by kevin on December 12, 2011

There’s free, and not free, on this soggy Monday:

► Not free: The second night of the “Watch The Throne” spectacle, with Jay-Z & Kanye West, at Staples Center.
► Also: Dinosaur Jr. performs its album “Bug” and chats with Henry Rollins in a big night at O.C.’s Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa.
► Free: London up-and-comers Tribes have a date at Echo supporting residents Neverever. That’s Tribes’ video for “We Were Children,” above — if you like the song, download it right here.
► Free, with your RSVP: Good lineup at It’s a School Night at Bardot, with Jonny Corndawg heading things up and Papa and Sweden’s Serenades supporting (and making their U.S.. debut). Serenades, if you remember, are Sweden’s Adam Olenius (Shout Out Louds) and Markus Krunegard, whom we posted about back in November.
► Just plain free: Manhattan Murder Mystery continues its residency with support from Seasons, the Monolators and the Mormons.
► More free: Light FM does its second week at the Silverlake Lounge, with Summer Darling opening.
► Free (or Free Metal, as it is billed): Interim Divine, Chamber of Echoes and Acidic play the Roxy.
► And Future Dancing continues its run at the Bootleg, supported by Wires in the Walls and Shannon Curtis. Did we mention free?
