‣ The Silent Comedy bring their foot-stomping blues-Americana to the Roxy for a headlining show that features rockers Taylor Locke & the Roughs, who are working on the follow-up to the two albums they released in 2010, and Races, the indie-rockers whose debut album “Year of the Witch” is out March 27 on Frenchkiss Records. (And Buzz Bands LA will be selecting the between-sets music, any requests?)
‣ Norwegian rocker Ida Maria, who was dynamite last year when she visited the Roxy, comes back to L.A. for a night at the Satellite behind her latest album “Katla.” Opening: El Elle (a new band featuring Lisa Light of the Lovemakers), Tenlons Fort and Health Club.
‣ Chairlift plays the free but RSVP-only IAMSOUND’s Mondrian Sessions at the Mondrian Hotel in anticipation of next week’s release of their new album “Something.” That’s the Brooklyn duo’s video for “Amanaemonesia,” above.
‣ Sounds Major – the new project from songwriter Sean Nelson (Harvey Danger) that features Seattleites Kyle O’Quin, Thomas Hunter and Aaron Benson – visits the Hotel Cafe. The jam-packed bill at the Cahuenga Boulevard venue also features the Pierces, Sugar & the Hi Lows and the Early Winters.
‣ And Olin & the Moon continue their “Beer and Bingo” residency at the Echo with Maxim Ludwig and the Santa Fe Seven. Also on the bill tonight: Flora and Fauna and Darrin Bennett & the Requiem.
