Tonight in L.A.: Bahamas, Jackson Browne, Van Halen, CocoRosie, DWNTWN, IAMEVE

1

Bahamas, the musical vehicle of Toronto singer-songwriter Afie Jurvanen, play at KCRW’s “Summer Nights” series at One Colorado in Pasadena. The 7:30 courtyard show is free.
Jackson Browne and Lizz Wright do a big benefit at the Orpheum for the Success Through The Arts Foundation and the Fernando Pullum Community Arts Center.
CocoRosie, whose February show at the Luckman Fine Arts Complex was postponed because Rosie Casady was recovering from vocal problems, plays its makeup date tonight. Free Moral Agents and Sissy Nobby support.
‣ L.A. duo DWNTWN [whose single we can’t get enough of] plays the Kitsuné America party at the Echoplex, celebrating the French label’s compilation of songs from U.S. bands. Heartsrevolution and Giraffage also perform.
‣ And it’s a good slate at the Hotel Cafe, with IAMEVE, Mind the Gap (continuing their residency) and Arrica Rose & the …’s.
