‣ There’s a whole lotta psych-rock going on at the Echo, Echoplex and Origami Vinyl today. The Echoes West festival brings ’60s stalwarts Strawberry Alarm Clock along with Dead Meadow, Lords of Altamont, Sleep Over, Spindrift, Sterling Roswell, Gram Rabbit, Silver Chords, Electric Flower Group, Strangers Family Band, United Ghosts and more to the one-day event. That’s Dead Meadow, pictured; the trio will debut a half-dozen new songs from their forthcoming album at the festival. Set times at the bottom of this post.
‣ Mini Mansions, having just released some B-sides recorded when they made last year’s excellent full-length, headline the Central SAPC in Santa Monica, supported by Harriet and Line & Circle, with Jesse Kivel of Princeton/Kisses DJing.
‣ Speaking of psych-rock, young quintet Feeding People, who just released their first single for Innovative Leisure, “Island Universe,” play the Smell tonight along with Corners and Wide Streets.
‣ And Capital Cities kick off big world tour with a show at Saint Rocke.
