Take this one to your after-hours club. Just in time for L.A.’s annual Francophile feeding frenzy – the OohLaLA Festival – the new duo Tomorrow’s World has released its debut EP. We say new, but you might know the principals; Tomorrow’s World is the collaboration between Jean-Benoit Dunckel of Air and London-based singer Lou Hayter (New Young Pony Club). Their electro-pop noir is both edgy and sleek, a duality captured well in director James D. Kelly’s video for the single “So Long My Love.”
||| Live: Tomorrow’s World plays the Kitsuné Maison Night of the OohLaLA! Festival on Thursday at the El Rey Theatre, along with Housse de Racket, Citizens! and Lescop. OohLaLA continues Friday with -M- at the El Rey; Saturday with Nouvelle Vague and Valente at Club Nokia; and Sunday with Chocolate Genius Inc., Francois & the Atlas Mountains and Freedom Fry at the Satellite.
