Ears Wide Open: Echoes de Luxe

Sonic texture seems to be Echoes de Luxe‘s thing, and it’s a good focus to have. The band’s tight ’70s rock sound first caught the ears of producer Pete Lyman (Mars Volta, Death Cab For Cutie) back in 2009, who went on to work with them on their 2010 EP “The Notremonde Demos.” Core members Brahm Bourque, Richard Swan and Spencer Wynn continued to hone their combination of electronica and rock and roll since then and have teamed up with Velvet Revolver’s Dave Kushner for their next forthcoming album. Today, they officially present “Hold On” as a teaser. Offering a little something for everyone, the EP’s title track gently pushes and pulls while songs like “Don’t Change” pummels through with raucous rhythms and wailing guitar.
