Video: Wild Belle, ‘Keep You’

It’s been a while since Wild Belle rolled through town. Back in April, the buzz surrounding the Chicago-based band was almost deafening considering their 12-inch single, “Keep You,” was the only thing fans could get their hands on. Since then, new material, such as “It’s Too Late” and “Backslider,” further demonstrated their ability to write songs with a fresh take on Caribbean influences. But it’s still that first single that has everyone anticipating their debut full-length, “Isles.” Fans are reminded of the great tune with the new Melina Matsoukas-directed clip in which Natalie Bergman’s coos are perfectly paired with wistful looks. Yet we’re not watching her, nor are we watching her brother Elliot (because someone else is blowing the sax at one point). As Natalie sings of unrequited love, the intriguing story of a man and his childish habits unfurl. “Isles” is slated for a release next year.

Yes! This didn’t see this earlier but this is easily my favorite song of theirs.
