If you weren’t around for Summer of Love or the Human Be-In – and we somehow suspect that most of you weren’t – find the photo gallery of your choice and listen to “Coast to Coast,” the new single from the Blank Tapes. (Heightening your experience in any other way is strictly optional, mind you.) There you are in 1967, courtesy of songwriter Matt Adams and cohorts Pearl Charles and D.A. Humphrey, who continue to nail the ’60s vibe on their forthcoming album “Vacation” (out May 14 via Antenna Farm Records). Adams, a SoCal native who spent a few years in the Bay Area (during which he released 2010’s “Home Away From Home”), finds musical inspiration in double rainbows, tamarind seeds and “Brazilia,” where he caught a little bossa nova fever while on tour. “Don’t Ever Get Old,” Adams warns near the album’s close. Groovy, man, but easy for you to say.
