There was “OctaHate” and lotsa love on Monday night at the El Rey Theatre, where Ryn Weaver celebrated the release of her debut album “The Fool” with a show filled with emotional peaks and valleys. The 22-year-old belted out singles “OctaHate,” “The Fool” and “Traveling Song;” played to young, footloose fans in the front row who wanted phone pictures and selfies; and at one point invited everybody in the crowd to introduce themselves to the person they were standing next to. Chicago’s Sam Dew, who worked with TV on the Radio’s Dave Sitek on his debut EP, opened with an impressive set displaying the vocal prowess that has earned him guest turns with the likes of Wale and Skrillex.
