Portland chamber-pop ensemble Loch Lomond have spent a decade now crafting songs that often seem like colorful miniatures, with delicate parts adding up to a greater beauty. Ritchie Young, the singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist at the controls, hit his stride with 2011’s “Little Me Will Start a Storm” and 2013’s “Dresses,” both of which fully realized his tender narrations. This week the band announced plans to release its sixth album, “Pens From Spain,” early next year and teased with the new song “A String.” Cue the (small) orchestra, this one’s beautiful.
