On their new album “Bleak,” L.A. trio Froth shed the psych-pop diapers worn by so many in their scene, turning up both the wattage and riffage for ear-blistering gems like “Postcard Radio” and the title track. Wedged amid their epic bits of shoegazing is the world-weary “Nothing Baby,” the kind of album track that allows you to catch yout breath. Or make you want to volunteer to make a coffee run for the singer-guitarist Joo-Joo Ashworth, Jeremy Katz and drummer Cameron Allen a coffee run. Director Riley Blakeway’s video for the song is a forlorn day-in-the-life of a pizza delivery guy anesthetizing his dreary life with booze and video games. It’s “98% autobiographical for (our drummer) Cameron,” the band tells NPR, where the video premiered. Shimmer along with it. And, maybe, say a prayer for the goldfish.
