The L.A. electro duo of Magic Bronson spent much of last year recalibrating — Michael Nicastro and Matthew Lieberman released their intoxicating, genre-mashing debut “Wildlife” in late 2014, left their label and holed up in their studio to hone their writing and recording skills, releasing just one single, “Levitate” and a funky, lovable little Harry Nilsson cover last year. They return with “Run Run,” the first blast from a new EP set for an April 8 release. It was inspired, Lieberman says, by a drunken night in San Francisco after his brother’s wedding as he reflected his own hectic life — “and the feeling you get when a sibling has a moment you haven’t had yet.” While Nicastro’s woozy crooning and the twinkling synths give the tune its wistful edge, Lieberman’s bass line is all about the dance floor. Full speed ahead.
