GIRLSCHOOL Field Day Weekend [see our interview with Anna Bulbrook] roars into the second day of a three-day festival, with Kim & the Created, Maria Taylor, Nina & Louise from Veruca Salt, White Sea, Conway, Nightjacket, Lael Neale and Kate Nash (DJ set) performing at the Bootleg Theater.
► It’s the third and final show with Jenny Lewis & the Watson Twins celebrating the 10-year anniversary of “Rabbit Fur Coat” at the Cathedral Sanctuary at Immanuel Presbyterian.
► It’s a rain-or-shine event, so fingers crossed: The free, all-ages Night on Broadway [details here] brings Aloe Blacc, Ozomatli, Bullet & Snowfox, the Spazmatics, the Cold and Lovely and more to downtown L.A.. It takes place on Broadway between 3rd and 7th streets, and in nearby theaters.
