We know what you’re thinking: “Holy ghost of The Bait Shop, I haven’t thought about the Subways since ‘The O.C.’” Those were the days, right? The U.K. trio’s “Rock & Roll Queen” delivered 3 minutes of rock delirium and the band — teenagers then — stormed across the U.S. (including Coachella 2006) in fine punk spirit. Billy Lunn, Charlotte Cooper and Josh Morgan have released three more albums since their 2005 debut “Young for Eternity,” but precious little of it has made it to these shores. That changes April 7 when their self-titled fourth album gets a North American vinyl release via Bodan Kuma. The single “Dirty Muddy Paws” is out Friday as a 7-inch. It’s a straight-ahead rager that shows the Subways haven’t really lost a step, they’ve just been treading where a large part of the world hasn’t heard them. Their first North American tour in eight years kicks off next month and ends in May with a date at the Troubadour.
