Video: The Lonely Wild, ‘Hunted’

“Watch closely,” the Lonely Wild warn in announcing the new music video for their song “Hunted.” Take heed. It’s the work of Brazilian filmmakers Diana Boccara and Leo Longo, doing business as Around the World in 80 Music Videos. Usually, the videos in the duo’s series are shot in one take, but they got incredibly ambitious — and band members Andrew Carroll, Dave Farina, Ryan Ross, Andrew Schneider and Jessi Williams, we reckon, got incredibly sunburned — for the video shoot in the California desert.
Boccara and Longo created a “super complex puzzle” along the theme that the characters are escaping “their mechanical, boring lives,” Longo says. The puzzle plays out as the video is divided into four horizontal panels. It’s almost something OK Go would do. Singer-guitarist Carroll says this of the video: “The song is actually about being hunted by time; it will catch each of us at some point. So we decided that playing around with time in the video would fit the song well.” The making-of clip about the “Hunted” video is also recommended. The song is from the Lonely Wild’s John Vandeslice-produced sophomore album “Chasing White Light,” out last year.
