MOON

The made-for-stadiums synth-rock of the new L.A. duo MOON actually began as something that might be made for film. The principals, Dan Silver (guitar/synth) and Chelsea Davis (vocals/bass) met in a collaborative writing session, and later their first single, the insistent “I Got a Fever,” was used in the USA network’s show “Colony.” More work followed for the Silver, a producer/composer and former member of alt-rockers Standing Shadows, and Davis, a touring multi-instrumentalist who at one time was the drummer in The Start. Their second single, the synth banger “We’re So Close” (released today), is one of those we’re-all-in-this-together anthems with a huge chorus. It’s familiar enough that what the band says about the name MOON might apply: “It has an exceptional gravitational pull that we are all attracted to.”
