The one-man storm known as Jack Garratt roared through Southern California this week on the tour supporting his debut full-length “Phase,” released in February. The U.K. singer-songwriter satiated a ravenous crowd Monday night at the Constellation Room, manning his keyboards, drum pads and guitar while singing. He jokingly played some elevator music to passersby on their way to the adjacent Observatory, inviting them in to his show, and, responding to a fan who whistled long and loudly, “Someone needs to take that kettle off the stove.” Besides his album tracks, he included a cover of the theme song from “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” and ended the night with his signature salute: “My name is Jack Garratt and I hope it will be for the rest of my life!”

Brooklyn duo Brasstracks opened the show, fashioning beats onstage while looping drums and a trumpet. Friends Natalie Cressman and Alexander Lewis and joined in to make up a horn section, and rapper S’natra also guested.
