Alex Ebert recently released “Broken Record,” the first new single since his 2011 solo album “Alexander.” And now he’s got a new/old song that he found in his archives — a search which also unearthed an Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros EP that will be released at some point. He says, “‘Joy Is My Armor’ just still felt entirely relevant, so I dusted it off, added a bridge, mixed it, and here it is. Glad it’s finally going to see the world.” Full of echoes, chipper percussion and bubbling, bloopy sounds, the recording feels like it’s on drugs. Enjoy the trip.
