Video: Lucy & La Mer, ‘Honey, Put Your Weapons Down’

Lucy LaForge has always relied on the ukulele to strum her way through heartbreak. In fact, LaForge wrote Lucy & La Mer‘s 2015 debut EP, “Little Spoon,” after a breakup while spending time with her instrument on her parents’ sailboat. On “Honey, Put Your Weapons Down,” LaForge plaintively captures the choppy side of love, and comes to realize that fighting your way through a relationship basically makes no sense. Directed by LaForge and filmed by Heath Saunders, the video brings a touch of humor to the subject, with technology getting in the way of two people making a connection. There’s a little surprise at the end involving a haircut and a good cause.
