The long-awaited fifth studio album from noise-rock duo No Age, “Snares Like A Haircut” arrives on Jan. 26 via Drag City Records. Song titles like “Third Grade Rave,” “Secret Swamp,” and “Drippy” certainly pique curiosity in what this 12-track record promises. Whether first single “Soft Collar Fad” refers to T-shirts or stylish neck braces, the song brandishes a rebellious spirit comprised of Randy Randall’s distorted guitar and Dean Spunt’s clamorous drums, a few hallucinatory effects to keep listeners on their toes, and a feeling that if the world as we know it is coming to an end, it’s imperative to rock out until our ears bleed, then build a canoe and paddle into the apocalyptic sunset.
