“Post Requisite” may be the first music video from Flying Lotus in two years, but there’s been no shortage of output from Steve Ellison’s twisted imagination. His feature film, “Kuso,” for instance, has provided nightmare material that viewers will cherish until the end of time. He did the music for “Black Out 2022,” an anime short commissioned by “Blade Runner 2049” director Denis Villeneuve and directed by Shinichiro Watanabe. And he produced Thundercat’s “Drunk” album. And he curated a music festival in Calgary. And now he’s touring a new 3D live show that debuted at FYF Festival this summer.
This hallucinogenic stop-motion video directed by Winston Hacking accompanies a track that actually served as “Kuso’s” theme music. Flying Lotus is currently finishing his next studio album that will be released by Warp Records.
