Where idolatry is strongest and most blinding, disillusionment is most bitter. That’s the underlying sadness in “Neither,” the new single from SAÍGO. The Maryland-reared son of Vietnamese immigrants, born Tien Nguyen, now has four singles to his credit (along with his contributions as vocalist on the Kan Wakan album), all showcasing his stratospheric vocals over subdued beats and serpentine melodies. “‘Neither’ was written about the peril of idealizing those we admire, and how we magnify the inevitable disappointment,” he says. “We are in the process of renewal, redrawing the borders of our societal grey areas, tearing down the glossy posters of our false saints and fallen idols.”

The single, produced by Alexander Vincent and Kan Wakan, will appear on SAÍGO’s forthcoming EP, release date TBA.
