Much like 2016’s “In Loving Memory,” which received a full visual accompaniment, Saro has conceived a video series bringing movement to his latest EP, “Boy Afraid,” released last December via the artist’s own label, Mateo Sound. The first of five, a stirring video for “Sky Doesn’t Blue” deals with the emotional aftermath of losing one of his best friends and “… the struggle with my mental state during the time following her death,” says Saro. Directed by Merlin Camozzi and choreographed by Teddy Forance, “the dancers represent my demons taking control and pulling me into the darkest part of my mind,” he adds. While this song and the rest of the EP reference several relationships in his life, the content really delves inward into Saro’s relationship with himself. “By the end of the video, I go on the offensive to reclaim my power and sanity. Releasing the dark pent-up energy into my music was one of the most important parts of this process.”
