Both Tiger Army and Twin Temple embrace the clean, classic roots of rock ’n’ roll. Tiger Army taking the more straight and narrow path whole, while Twin Temple cuts through the cemetery for a quick sacrifice.

They played the Theatre at Ace Hotel on Friday, with Tiger Army celebrating their release, “Dark Paradise,” their fourth EP in a catalog that also includes five full-lengths. It was a Tiki-themed night, with the Hawaiian shirt-wearing, flower-in-their-hair rockabilly fans starting off with a dose of Twin Temple’s satanic doo-wop. Tiger Army’s two-part set spanned the 20-plus-year history of the band.
