Who hasn’t done this, when the music and the mood and weather are right — dangle your arm out the car window and let your hand ride the wind? It’s a simple thing that makes for a simple video for OcnSide’s debut single “Taking Me Over.”
The video, which flashes to other simple pleasures (puppies), is a DIY affair from OcnSide’s songwriting partners David Dennis and Tony Aguiar. “Not only did we want this song to embrace that feeling of love, but we also wanted it to represent freedom,” they say. “There’s something beautiful and almost hypnotizing about carelessly letting your hand drag against the wind. It feels romantic and freeing.”
In their new incarnation, the former bandmates in Voxhaul Broadcast have found that soulful sweet spot between rock and pop, and in this single that vaguely weightless feeling of falling head-over-heels for somebody . There are more new tunes on the way.
