Venice Beach quartet Little Galaxies released their debut album “Patterns” back in 2013, but the band fell out of orbit two years later after singer-guitarist Jeanna Fournier was seriously injured in a car accident. Now she and songwriting partner Amir Eshraghi are back, with a new rhythm section, Christian Johnson on drums and Andreas Sandnes on bass.

Little Galaxies’ mix of dream-pop, psych-rock and experimental permutations had always had a space-rock feel (there was even theremin involved), and their new single “Out in Control” feels as if it’s on an interstellar journey as well. A stuttering synth that sounds like it’s straight out of R2D2’s Spotify playlist backs Fournier’s vocals as she soars toward a big-hair guitar solo at the finish.
