Can we all agree that 16-year-old Billie Eilish should look happier in her photos? She’s taken over the alt-pop universe in under three years, and although it’s a fate some may have suspected when we first heard “Ocean Eyes,” it’s no less a marvel.
The smoldering, slow-building “Come Out and Play” is her latest single, arriving today with the imprimatur of all the big pop tastemakers. It follows “When the Party’s Over” and is her fifth single, not counting remixes, of 2018. And it comes with the news that there is a debut full-length in the works for 2019.
And in other news, the singer has launched “Billie’s Closet” (see the far right tab), where every Wednesday from 9 a.m. to noon (Pacific time) the artist (who’s fond of thrifting) will be selling personal items of clothing. Proceeds from the sales will go to Marley’s Mutts (a dog rescue agency) its Pawsitive Change program that matches dogs with inmates incarcerated in California prisons.
