Perfection is the truncated name of a band first spotted at the Echo back in September, Patrick Nolan & Perfection. The group is the brainchild of Nolan (ex-Meatbodies, Walter), who is joined by an all-star group of locals including guitarist-synth player Misha Lindes (SadGirl), drummer Erik Jimenez (Together Pangea) and backing vocalist Zoe Lambert (No Parents), along with Douglas Lamothe (keys), Elliott Bultard (bass) and Kelsey Rubenstein (vocals, percussion).

In advance of their three-week residency at the Echo, which starts tonight, Perfection today unveiled two new singles, “What a Nice Time” and “Nothing.” They’re funk-ified soft-rock/garage-pop jams featuring synths that have a three-martini buzz, nifty rhythms and backing vocalists and Nolan’s affectingly debonair baritone. Nolan’s croon will draw you in, while the rest of the band will keep you swaying, back and forth (and to and from) the bar.
