Before beginning their set at the Fonda Theatre last night, Brooklyn-based four-piece Big Thief strolled into the photo pit, handing out small bouquets of flowers to their adoring fans, asking for them to be passed around. Once on stage, Big Thief– who consist of Buck Meek (guitar, backup vocals), Max Oleartchik (bass), James Krivchenia (drums) and fronted by Adrianne Lenker (guitar, vocals)– began their often gloomy brand of indie-folk-rock. Drowned in heavy lights that matched their emotional vibe, Big Thief played a number of songs off their new record U.F.O.F. (out today, 5/3), as well as some of their more well-known tracks, both garnering very positive reactions from the intimate crowd. Big Thief plays one more (sold out) show in Los Angeles tonight at the Bootleg Theater celebrating the release of their new album.

Folk and country singer-songwriter Victoria Williams opened the show with her easy-going, rambling tunes that eased the slowly gathering crowd into the show.
