You want chill? Try Chiller.

Wes Chiller is a singer-songwriter out of Capistrano Beach whose surf-cum-indie-rock is so charmingly slacker it makes The Dude look stressed out. The 27-year-old — real last name: Miller — is prepping the release of his debut EP, “Chiller Instinct,” produced by his longtime South Orange County compatriot Kyle Krone.

Krone, the onetime frontman of the Shys who released his solo album “Sea Level” earlier this year, had recruited the then-teenaged Miller to play in his band back in the day. Miller went on to study music at UCLA before, guitar and ukulele in hand, he returned to his home turf.

Chiller’s music runs in the same easygoing vein as Mac DeMarco, and in the debut single “Mo Nothin” he’s content to shut out the noise from the outside world to sip a Ballast Point or gin and tonic. “Punch me in the face / wrap my head in fake news / Just mo nothin / Always more nothin,” he concludes, and, yeah, there are days like that, if not months.
