Redd Kross, Veruca Salt, That Dog. and more will play “Celebrate the Life of Kim Shattuck: Create a World Without ALS,” a benefit show at the El Rey on March 15 in honor of the late singer-songwriter. Tickets on sale tomorrow at 10.
Letters to Cleo celebrated the release of a new holiday EP — and, with Louise Post of Veruca Salt guesting, paid tribute to the late Kim Shattuck — on an energetic night at the Hi Hat.
Fellow musicians, friends and fans remember Kim Shattuck for her artistry, charisma and moxie. Shattuck, singer-guitarist for The Muffs, died Wednesday of complications from ALS. “We will hear that rock ’n’ roll scream from heaven,” Billie Joe Armstrong said.
