I suspect that by tomorrow we will have a lineup for Coachella 2009, or the bulk of one, and like the populace on the message boards, the overlord of the Who Will Play Coachella 2009 blog and the young man who creates these wishful posters (he’s in high school and he has skills), I’m anxious.

KROQ-FM says it will have an announcement Tuesday, so, knowing the Los Angeles Times’ cozy relationship with promoter Goldenvoice, that means we should be glued to the Times’ Pop & Hiss blog this afternoon. And then maybe take advantage of the festival’s spiffy layaway plan …”  you know, so we don’t spend all of our unemployment checks at once.

Will it be worth your $269? It looks like it, if bold-type names such as the Killers, Kings of Leon, Paul McCartney, Morrissey and Neil Young are on board. And interesting reunions? I have strong indications that Blur, the Specials and Faith No More will perform.

If you missed the announcement way back when, Coachella 2009 is a week earlier than in past years – it’s April 17, 18 and 19 in sunny Indio.
