tintedwindowsTinted Windows, the seemingly unlikely conflagration of Taylor Hanson (Hanson), Adam Schlesinger (Fountains of Wayne), James Iha (Smashing Pumpkins) and Bun E. Carlos (Cheap Track), hits town for a sold-out show at the Troubadour tonight. Tinted Windows’ debut album, out last week, doesn’t exactly live up to the band’s lineage, but you wouldn’t flip radio stations if “Kind of a Girl” or “Messing With My Head” came on, although you’d feel more excited if it were 1973. The Broken West open. … At the Echoplex, it’s the album release show for Castledoor’s “Shouting at Mountains” [see yesterday’s post], as well as for the Parson Red Heads’ new “Orangufang” EP. … Also: Last American Buffalo at the Silverlake Lounge; Boblog III at Spaceland; the second of Dave Barnes’ two-night stand at the Hotel Cafe.
